Liverpool FC: On this day

In1969Liverpool sold Roger Hunt to Bolton for £33,000 after a remarkable 10 years at the club.

That would be equivalent to £484,000 in today’s money – that would not even buy you a pair of his socks!

Hunt scored 285 goals for the club in 492 games and held the goalscoring record until Ian Rush came along.

He won two League titles and the Second Division championship, and was part of Liverpool’s first FA Cup win in 1965.
