Galaxy S23’s One UI 8 update reaches the US

Samsung released the One UI 8.0 (Android 16) update to the Galaxy S23, Galaxy S23+and Galaxy S23 Ultra last month. However, back then, the brand had made it available only in Korea. Earlier this month, the company started rolling out the update internationally, with Asian and European countries being the first to get it. Well, the tech giant has finally released the new firmware in one of its biggest markets, the US.

The Galaxy S23’s One UI 8 update in the US is live for factory-unlocked as well as carrier-locked variants. The firmware version for the former is S91xU1UEU6EYI5, and that for the latter is S91xUSQU6EYI7 (via Samsung’s Community forum for the US). You can check it out in the image below. To get it, go to Settings > Software update > Download and install.

One UI 8 features

While One UI 8 isn’t as big an upgrade as One UI 7, it brings a ton of changes. It offers a new design as well as new features for DeX, Drawing Assist, Now Bar, Now Brief, Quick Panel, Alarm, Calendar, Gallery, My Files, Notes, Quick Share, Reminder, Samsung Internet, and Weather. It also offers better multitasking and a Secure Folder with better security. You can check out all the changes in our video below.

Samsung is also developing One UI 8.5, which is based on Android 16. According to a leaked One UI 8.5 firmware, it brings many upgrades. You can check them out here. Needless to say, the Galaxy S23 lineup is eligible to get it. Samsung is expected to debut it with the Galaxy S26 series in February 2026.
