Foodies are overjoyed to finally experience the moment thousands have been waiting for – and all it will take is a trip to your local Aldi.

Aldi Australia has released a limited-edition block of Dubai chocolate – and it’s only $7.99.

Pistachio is the flavour of the moment – from gelato to croissants, the nutty green obsession is sweeping the country.

Many supermarkets have struggled to keep pistachio-flavoured products in stock, while Tiktok continues to fuel the craze.

And now, the dessert that arguably started it all – viral ‘Dubai chocolate’ – has officially arrived Down Under for a budget price.

Despite the popularity, many Aussies have been unable to try the chocolate because of the high price tag, which can range from $19.99 to $95 for a single bar.

‘If you’ve never tried Dubai chocolate, here’s your chance,’ said food reviewer Nectro Vlangos, known online as Nectorious Papi.

‘The milk chocolate is awesome, the pistachio is super strong, and the Kadayif is crunchy. It’s exactly what it’s meant to be.

‘Only $7.99 and it tastes crazy good. It’s a no brainer. If you’ve tried Dubai chocolate, tick. If you haven’t tried Dubai chocolate, tick. Run, don’t walk.’

Nick Vavitis, another popular Aussie food reviewer, had similar opinions on the bar.

‘I don’t understand the Dubai trend because I think everything tastes like Kinder Bueno, but this is (great) for $7.99,’ he said.

‘You get the crunch, it’s creamy, the actual chocolate is nice on the outside. I usually cannot justify Dubai chocolate because the flavour isn’t there for $25, so Aldi’s (bargain block) is an 11 out of 10.’

Originally made famous by a TikTok from influencer Maria Vehera, which racked up more than 122million views, the pistachio-stuffed chocolate block quickly became a cult favourite.

Such is the obsession with Dubai chocolate that sweet-toothed fans have been crossing borders just just to try it – with some travellers reportedly flying through the UAE solely to get their hands on a block.

Others have attempted to DIY the viral pistachio treat at home, using everything from supermarket chocolate to imported Kadayif pastry and pistachio butter in a bid to replicate the luxe layers.

TikTok and Instagram have been flooded with tutorials, taste tests, and unboxings, with creators filming everything from suitcase hauls to step-by-step recreations.

One user even called it ‘the dessert that’s worth the airfare’, while others have paid inflated prices to have it shipped from boutique chocolatiers in Dubai.

The bar is based on a 2021 recipe by Sarah Hamouda of FIX Dessert Chocolatierthe indulgent treat was only available in Dubai – until now.

You can find the chocolate in Australia at various supermarkets and chocolate stores, and now also at Aldi.

But if the craze is anything to go by, you’ll have to be quick before it disappears from shelves forever.
