Taylor Swift is thriving in her professional, personal, and family life.

PEOPLE confirmed in July that the pop star’s father, Scott Swift73, had undergone quintuple bypass surgery the month prior.

According to the Mayo Clinic“Coronary artery bypass surgery creates a new path for blood to go around a blocked or partially blocked artery in the heart.”

Four months after his procedure in June, “The Fate of Ophelia” hitmaker, 35, says that her father is “doing so great.”

“By his own according of it, he’s actually at 150% now,” said Taylor on SiriusXM’s The Morning Mashup on Monday, Oct. 6. “He’s actually got too much energy. He’s doing amazing.”

She said that the biggest part of the summer for her family was taking care of their patriarch and “getting him back to his old self.”

“He had amazing medical care and help and doctors and nurses who I am going to be forever grateful for,” Taylor said, noting that an experience like that “recontextualizes what matters to you.”

“It reminds me how lucky I am that he pulled through,” said Taylor about her father, whom she moved in with during the summer as he recovered.

Speaking to how Scott has been known to hand out guitar picks to fans during his daughter’s shows, the singer revealed that he’s “got new ones” because “every time there’s a new album that comes out, he gets new guitar picks made so he can just pull them out of his pocket and throw them or hand them to people at restaurants.”

“This happens everywhere we go,” Taylor emphasized.

Scott’s medical procedure doctors found five blockages in his heart after he underwent a cardiac stress test, she explained during her appearance on fiancé Travis Kelce‘s New Heights podcast on Aug. 13.

“So, he’s been telling all his friends, ‘You need to get the stress test because that’s what’s actually preventative.’ If you can find that earlier, you don’t have to have a bypass surgery,” the “Honey” singer said. “You can sort out those blockages with stents and things that are a lot less invasive.”
