Experts Warn Of The Dangers Of Relying On Artificial Intelligence In Planning Tourist Trips

uaetodaynews.com — Experts warn of the dangers of relying on artificial intelligence in planning tourist trips
The Futurism website warned against excessive reliance on artificial intelligence tools in planning tourist trips without verifying the accuracy of the information provided by these technologies, noting that some smart assistants may sometimes provide users with inaccurate data or even information about places that do not exist in reality.
The site gave an example of this with an incident that occurred in Peru, where a tour guide heard two tourists planning to visit a site called the “Sacred Valley of Humentai” in the Andes, after they obtained information about it from an artificial intelligence application. The guide took the initiative to warn them, explaining that this site does not exist in the first place, and that such mistakes may expose tourists to dangerous situations in high areas exceeding 4,000 meters above sea level, where oxygen levels are low and there is no communication network coverage.
The report indicated that artificial intelligence is currently being used as a “digital travel guide” in about 24% of tourism planning cases around the world, which may sometimes lead to real problems. Some of these apps may fail to alert users to visa requirements, or provide incorrect dates for visiting attractions, ruining trip plans.
In light of this, tourism experts advise travelers to verify all trip details through official and reliable sources, and not to rely entirely on artificial intelligence tools as the sole source of tourism information, in order to avoid any risks or unexpected surprises.
